Hallo Marco,

Im sorry about the rest of the members of this Pages. You can chose the numbers of  windows that you want to have around. You can also have a kind of Window in the roof.
For a better planing contakt Destert Tec by phone. They will help you and they are very frendly.

Greets

Miguel

Hi Marco!

How hot it gets under a pop-up roof (Hubdach) is a question of its design. As Miguel has elaborated, venting through side sindows in the fabric and/or a hatch in the roof itsel is one thing. What is equally important - in my view - is the quality of thermal insulation built into the roof itself. There are considerable variations with this respect in the products currently on the market. Our Cruiser is equipped with a roof from Off-Road-Schmiede (www.off-road-schmiede.com), and I can highly recommend it with regard to its insulation properties, as well as in any other respect.

As far as homologation is concerned, I would imagine that it's required. As far as Switzerland (which is where I live) is concerned, I'll just wait for my turn for the next DMV-inspection, and then I'll see what happens...

If you have more questions, please feel free to ask.

Hey Marco!

You may also want to check out the following outfitters in Switzerland:

Off-Road Boehlen in Thun near Bern (see www.o-r-b.ch): The owner Andreas Boehlen deals with Special Mobils directly, so you don't have to (I think this is correct, but I'm not absolutely certain). He also builds and outfits all sorts of stuff, such as bumpers, tanks, suspensions, etc.

Also of interest might be Albistech in Hirzel near Zürich (see www.toyo.ch): The owner Peter Albisser builds pop-up roofs similar to those made by Desert-Tec, and also does outfitting of all sorts. Furthermore, he's specialized in engine tuning.

Both of the above are a good bit closer to Italy than either Special Mobils or Desert-Tec.

HTH,

Ron
